Merck is being sued over the fatal accidents suffered with patients who have taken the drug Vioxx. Merck is being sued by over 11,000 individuals who suffered heart attacks and strokes as a result of taking Vioxx. Lawsuits claim that Merck did not inform patients and doctors of the fatal effects of the drug and the ensuing deaths it had caused. The FDA has come under intense scrutiny for the mishandling of the prices and uses of the drug for people who already possessed too many risk factors.
